As we take our hobby seriously at Weston Rushes, we endeavour to ensure a high level of bio- security, by restricting access to our birds as well as a regular regime of hygiene and medication to ward off parasites and illness.
Our mission is to safeguard the continuation of these fascinating breeds, by incorporating good bloodlines .
We have bred many different colours such as porcelaines, buff mottled, and Millefleur in our collection of D'Uccles, however last year for the first time , we bred wheaten /fawn mottled -a colour that we have never seen before! ( anyone got any?)
GUIDE TO BUYING BIRDS:
Barbu D'anvers make great pets and we have a selection of colours available such as cuckoo, quail, lavender, millefleur, white, black including some rare De Watermael ( or crested variety)
We also have a good selection of booted Dutch or Sablepoots, which are beautiful calm-natured birds with striking markings. Please see 'latest news' page on this site for current birds for sale. Please note: we do not sell hens only-this means we cull more than normal of our cocks, and it is not fair on the birds.We also advise that you think carefully about the sort of bird you require- do you want to show them? Do you just want backyard pets? If you want exhibition -type birds , then expect to pay more for them from any breeder! Always read up on the breeds that interest you , so that you can make informed judgements when purchasing - if in doubt , ask questions!
